Sept 19 meeting: Austin’s Zoning Rewrite

Jeff Jack will speak about the land development code revision process at the September 19 Sustainable Neighborhoods meeting. The meeting is from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at the Village Christian Apartments activity room, 7925 Rockwood. It is open to the public.
The City of Austin is rewriting many of its zoning laws to bring them into conformance with the Imagine Austin comprehensive plan. Jack, a neighborhood advocate and critic of recent plans, will explain the process and address potential risks. A particular concern is how new code would be applied for neighborhood plans that were designed using the old code, and what neighborhoods with no neighborhood plan can expect.
Jack is chair of the City of Austin Board of Adjustment, ex-officio member of the Planning Commission, and member of the Land Development Code Advisory Group.
