WNPCT Meeting Minutes

The meeting was held at Nosh and Bevvy and the only item of discussion was the Toyota Dealership. The engineer from the consulting firm was there to answer questions.

Before the meeting, the WNPCT sent questions regarding the screening and car carriers entering the site, as well as asking for updated plans. The engineer responded to screening and carrier questions:

  • An 8’ tall wood fence along the property lines adjacent to the residential lots and black ornamental and pipe rail fencing along the rest of the property lines.
  • The parking garage will be screened by an 8-foot-tall wood fence and proposed trees along the property lines adjacent to the residential lots.
  • Car carriers will access the site through the driveways along US Highway 183 and circulate the site for delivery.

During the meeting, the following was discussed and updates were provided:

  • Toyota’s design is almost complete and ready to be submitted to the city for review.
  • Toyota plans to add sidewalks to Lazy Lane.
  • Attendees asked questions on how the lights will be shielded from the neighborhood. A suggestion was made to determine if the plan could be Dark Sky compliant to help address the lightning issue. The engineer stated that the lights should be shielded away from the neighborhood, but they will provide a photometric plan and an electric light plan.
  • The trees to be planted include Red Oak and Shumard Oak. There are concerns about those trees, as they can grow very large and cause issues with the power lines. There were also concerns about how far they will be spaced out as they can block out the sun from the neighbors next to the dealership.
  • Members were also concerned about the placement of the dumpster, as current issues include the smell emanating from it and its infrequent pickup. The engineer mentioned that the dumpster would be covered or have a cement wall to reduce the smell, as it is currently located in the open.
  • Other questions arose on whether the service center would be changing to be a collision center, as certain smells sometimes come from the current service center.
