next my park day is November
Looks like progress on park water fountains.
Discussion on creating a masterplan
- had discussed several ideas during Anderson Square
- Might be able to raise more money if we had a master plan
- Current committee doesn’t have capacity, would need to get new committee members and leadership
- Timothy mentioned potential parks bond. The council office want to potentially have one this year, or definitely 2028.
- Thinks if there isn’t money in the pipe from the bonds than it doesn’t make sense
- Homestead preservation district, which our census tract is part of, meant to “improve” homesteads and make improvements to “missing” infrastructure
Contact team Update
- Suggestion that no parking zone be extended to between Becket and Kamar.
- could be tied into living streets proposal for that area.
- could be a holistic look at that area.
- Start a conversation with Dipti, the district engineer.
Update on Toyota dealer
- Still sorting out Parking garage screening
- They want to be at planning commission by June or July
- We want to try to meet and have a contact at the dealership at our next meeting.
What happens after dealer? Their may not be more zoning cases to discuss, so the contact team needs to start thinking about to engage with Austin planning initiative impacting the neighborhood.

Discussed neighborhood safety and old neighborhood watch group. Could talk to police commander about that.
Bike lane
- no substantial update on bikelane.
Real Estate school will become new Mi Tradicion Bakery. Probably opening soon.
