WNPCT Meeting Minutes

The Wooten Neighborhood Planning Contact Team met on May 5 to discuss the status of the following items:

  • Anderson Square Zone: The memorandum of understanding for the Park funding is being reviewed and signed off by the Austin Parks Foundation. The memorandum of understanding is an exhibit of the Restricted Covenant with the developers. Once this is signed, WNA will be working with the Parks Foundation to obtain cost information and share information with the neighborhood. The restricted covenant and rezoning case is going in front of the City Council on May 20th.

  • North Lamar Transit Center Station Area: On April 22, the Planning Commission approved the changes to the neighborhood plan to allow the rezoning of the North Lamar Transit Center.

  • Toyota Dealership: Several months ago, the Toyota Dealership applied for a permit to redevelop its dealership. While their initial permit was made inactive, they have restarted the process. Based on the size of the construction, a conditional use permit is needed. This permit requires approval from the planning commission and the city council. In this instance, the neighborhood can provide input on concerns. WNPCT is seeking input on concerns with the dealership or with the redevelopment.
