If your dog is missing…

Since we see a lot of lost-pet listings, here’s something that might help with a search.Take an article of clothing that you’ve worn all day at least so it really has your scent on and in it and put that where you last saw your dog, along with some water. Don’t put any food there as that may attract other animals that might scare off the dog. And if the dog has a special blanket or crate, put that there as well, and maybe put a note saying why those items are there in case anyone sees them; add your phone number in case someone sees your dog sitting there. Check back frequently, at least daily.

The author used this to find his dog after he’d been searching for 12 days; he returned the next day and his dog was sitting by his clothing, waiting for him.
