March 2009 meeting notice

There will be a Wooten Neighborhood Association meeting Monday, March 9, 2009 at 7:00 pm at the Redeemer Lutheran School Cafeteria, 1500 Anderson Lane (Burrell side). Don’t forget that we are now in Daylight Saving Time.
ANNUAL DUES of $5/person is due for everyone at this meeting if you did not pay your dues in November. Bring cash or make checks payable to Wooten Neighborhood Association.

Minutes of January 2009 Meeting

District Representative AJ Rodriguez shared crime statistics for our area comparing 2007 and 2008.

Michelle Smith from Texas Action for Healthy Kids received a $14,700 grant from Austin Parks and Recreation to make the playscape at Wooten Elementary more of a community area, i.e., community gardens, natural habitat, signs explaining the various plants.  When complete, Wooten will have the first Nature Playground in the city of Austin.

Crime and Code Enforcement – The public is encouraged to attend the Central West Commanders Forum. Representation from WNA reminds the District Representatives to pay attention to our area. Wooten reportedly has the highest burglary of Non-Residences of all neighborhood associations.
